Capacity Building Bundle
The Institute for Mixed Methods Research offers capacity-building trainings for you and your team. Capacity Building Bundle combines two sessions:
1) Getting Started with Dedoose for Qualitative and Mixed Methods Data Analysis
2) Advanced Use of Dedoose: Exploring and Visualizing Your Analysis
During each session, scholars from the Institute for Mixed Methods Research facilitate team discussions regarding strengthening your study, ensuring methodological alignment between your study and Dedoose, techniques for establishing trustworthiness, managing your codebook, and team communication. Getting Started with Dedoose for Qualitative and Mixed Methods Data Analysis is an in-depth capacity building session for you and your team, covering topics such as:
- Dedoose Foundational Elements
- Data Preparation and Management
- Data Import & Assessing Import Quality
- Coding (including coding in teams)
- Managing Codebooks and Multiple Meanings
- Memoing
- Team Processes and Project Management
Advanced Use of Dedoose: Exploring and Visualizing Your Analysis is an advanced session that is tailored to you and/or your team's project-specific needs. Topics include:
- Adding Quantitative or Demographic Dimensions to Your Analysis
- Examining Coded Data and Subcoding
- Establishing Trustworthiness
- Filtering Data
- Exploring Patterns and Relationships
- Visualizing Data
- Scaffolding your Writing
- Exporting Data
Sessions can incorporate your own data and may be scheduled for 90 minutes or 2 hours each. Each session can have up to 15 people in attendance.
All capacity-building sessions include:
- Recording of the session
- Resources and learning materials
- Follow-up support
