During Step 4 you can review, modify, and either accept or reject the candidate excerpts. Depending on your dataset and process, you may want to either select “Reject All” or “Accept All” as a starting point if you do not want to review each excerpt one-by-one.
View & Modify Excerpt Context
Selecting the “View Context” button opens up the excerpt candidate for you to review with fuller document context. You can also modify the excerpt length from this window.
When viewing the candidate excerpt in context, the proposed excerpt will be bolded and highlighted to indicate the current excerpt position.
To adjust the excerpt length, highlight the desired area for the excerpt with your cursor and select the “Update” button. Doing so will adjust the highlighted and bolded area to reflect your new excerpt length preference for that excerpt.
Submit Selections
After you review and make your accept/reject selections, click the “Submit” button to proceed.
Dedoose will alert you of the number of new or modified excerpts and will ask you to confirm.
